Summary

This year I’m getting back to my first love, hiking, after surgery. My goals are to hike as much as I can, to start ticking off more 14ers again, and to do more winter hiking/snowshoeing.

Day 1 - 2024-01-13 - Castlewood Canyon State Park

A short hike to practice my layering in the freezing cold. It was 1F according to my truck when I left the trailhead but it warmed up a few degrees by the end. The inch or two of fresh snow on the ground made everything look beautiful. It was relatively easy, but it was nice to feel my knee hold out while walking for 2 hours.
